Here are some of the more common drive recess types:

①Cross/phillips: generally used in household, use a phillips screwdriver to install and remove. The advantage is that it is easier to apply force than the slotted drive recess, and the disadvantage is that it is difficult to install and disassemble if the drive recess is damaged.

②Phillips slotted combination: generally used in household, use a phillips screwdriver to install and remove. the advantage is high universality, no obvious disadvantages.

③Slotted: generally used in household, use a slotted screwdriver to install and remove. The advantage is that when the screw drive recess is slightly damaged, you can use a tool to deepen the drive recess, the disadvantage is not easy to apply force installation and removal.

④Triangle: generally used for household electrical products, use a triangular key to install and remove. The advantage is to protect the personal safety of electrical products and users (do not let non-professionals open keys), no obvious disadvantages.

⑤Hex Socket: mechanical products are widely used, and use a hexagon wrench to install and remove. It has the advantage of high universality in the mechanical industry with no obvious shortcomings.

⑥torx plus slot: generally used for mechanical and electrical products, and use a hexagon wrench to install and remove. It advantage is to protect electrical products and workers personal safety (do not allow non-professionals without special tool to install and disassemble).

In summary, the slot and cross recess are common in self-tapping screw, and the torque required when tightening with the corresponding screwdriver is not large, so if a larger torque is used, the screw slot may be twisted.

The inner hexagon and outer hexagon head are more common in bolts, which are used in occasions with large binding torque. The outer hexagon bolt needs to be tightened with a monkey wrench or a socket wrench, and the inner hexagon bolt needs to be tightened with a allen key wrench, and the hexagonal head will not be twisted by wrench tools.
